A cube-shaped, two-storied building made of papyrus coloured concrete in Santa Maddalena di Funes houses the Puez-Odle Visitor Centre. It offers plenty of information about nature, geology and culture around the majestic Odle Group and Puez Group. The exhibition areas are called "Dolomites, hands-on" (geology of the Dolomites), "Nature's cabinet of wonders" (bird nests, feathers and antlers) and "Conquering the mountains" (alpinism). In a short film, Reinhold Messner, who was born in the Val di Funes valley, reports about his experiences in the mountains.
A Mountain Cinema offers special programs of selected nature park film productions, whereas an aerial walkable photograph provides an overview of the nature park. However, in Daksy's Kids' Workshop, the little guests can explore nature playfully with the mascot Daksy, the smart badger. After the visit - if you would like to experience nature now first hand - the 2- resp. 3-hour hike through the Puez-Odle Nature Park starts. On its starting point, the Zannes Mountain Hut, there's the 2nd information point of the nature park, the freely accessible Dolomites UNESCO Infopoint.
