"NatureParkKids" is the name of a special information programme run by the nature parks in South Tyrol, which has been aimed at the youngest visitors for around two decades. Daksy, the clever badger, knows all seven nature parks in South Tyrol inside out.
The individual visitor centres regularly offer afternoons for children in "Daksy's Nature Workshop": The educational adventure programme includes exciting, instructive and entertaining activities for children aged 6 to 12. For example, carnival masks are made from recycled materials at the Sciliar-Catinaccio Visitor Centre in Castelrotto, a "colourful autumn" is celebrated at the Vedrette di Ries-Aurino Visitor Centre in Campo Tures, or small and large wonders of nature are explored at the Monte Corno Nature Park School in the south of South Tyrol.
There is much to learn here about mountain streams, scrub and pine forests, deserts of rock and ice, ponds and pools, the Spring Valley, hedges and bushes, floodplains and alpine pastures, and many other habitats. Of course, there is also information on the animals that live there - from the brown trout and the eagle owl to the adder, the rare bearded vulture and the brown bear.
Nature can be so exciting! Participation is usually free of charge and clothes are allowed to get dirty. Registration is requested.
