The rustic Gigante Baranci Hut at nearly 1,500 metres offers fun and games for young visitors every Friday in summer
Between the five excursion mountains Monte Elmo, Orto del Toro, Croda Rossa di Sesto, Rocca dei Baranci and Comelico in the 3 Zinnen Dolomites region around San Candido and Sesto, the Rocca dei Baranci is known as the family mountain. Alongside attractions such as the barefoot lakes and the Fun Bob, you will also find the Gigante Baranci Hut and the Realm of the Giant Baranci there.
A varied entertainment programme is offered every Friday in July and August on the Giant Baranci's large mountain playground. There are games, fun and action for little guests, while you can make yourself comfortable on the sun terrace. The Rocca dei Baranci (Haunold) Chairlift starts in San Candido - participation is included in a valid lift ticket.
Alternatively, you can go on foot: the path from the valley to the mountain station is a popular family hike that can be completed in less than an hour. If you wish to climb higher, the hike to the Val Campo di Dentro valley is a great option. It is a four-hour tour in the Three Peaks Nature Park.
Down in the valley, however, the DoloMythos Museum organises the DoloMythos Summer Fest on Thursday evenings in July and August, featuring barbecues, treasure hunts and entertainment.
