Olperl’s Nature Park

The adventure park with its circular trail on the Mount Elmo in the Upper Val Pusteria valley offers fun for the whole family

A real adventure trip into the world of Olperl and his friends awaits you at the mountain station of the Monte Elmo Cable Car, which can be reached from San Vito Sesto or Versciaco. There Olperl's Nature Park - "Olperls Bergwelt" in German, "Parco Natura Olperl" in Italian - is located. The 1.5 km long circular path, also suitable for prams, offers 10 different stations dedicated to the alpine fauna. This special adventure park tells its own story.

Once upon a time a mysterious creature with big luminous eyes lived in the mountains of the Upper Val Pusteria. It had great fun to make jokes and to scare the people living in the surroundings with its whistles. A real "Springgingl" (mischievous goblin) or "Olperl", how it was called by local farmers. It is said that still today Olperl lives in the Sesto Dolomites, a great fried of the local wildlife and enthusiast of wild berries and other fruits. And still today it loves to scare the people passing by. Also the highest located barefoot path of the Dolomites is dedicated to it.

It awaits you with soft moss, cool spring water and natural materials to stimulate the circulation. Furthermore, you can enjoy the gorgeous view on the peaks in the Three Peaks Nature Park. In winter, the Monte Elmo is one of the five mountains in the large 3 Zinnen Dolomites Ski Resort.
