In the Val Racines valley you will find the popular Barefoot Path, which is a treat for everyone in summer and is great for the feet. The walk takes 45 minutes and starts at the Hotel Larchhof in Racines di Dentro. Then you continue on the well-known Val Racines Valley Path towards Flading, until you reach the 400-metre long Racines Barefoot Path - "Barfußweg Ratschings" in German, "Sentiero a piedi nudi a Racines" in Italian. Here you can take off your shoes.
So you can feel nature in a different way on various materials such as sand, wood and grass. The entire area is at about 1,400 metres a.s.l.: Even in midsummer, when it is oppressively hot at lower altitudes, a walk here is much more pleasant. The best time to walk the path is June to September.
At the end of the trail, take a sharp left turn across the Rio Racines stream and on the cross-country ski track back to the Racines Valley Path and the starting point.
