In the Val Venosta valley, the forest mouse Ferdinand is waiting for his little friends. The mascot accompanies them in about 1.5 hours on a 2.2 -kilometre long circular route that starts and ends below the Church of St. George in Agumes (Agums). At the numerous stations of the Gumperle Animal Path - "Waldtierpfad Gumperle" in German, "Sentiero degli animali selvatici" in Italian -, everything revolves around the native animals of the forest.
15 stops are to be made, among them at the badger tunnel and the woodpecker hill. And who is introduced here? The ant, the badger and the woodpecker, the stag and the bearded vulture, one of the rare inhabitants of the Stelvio National Park. At the information office in Prato allo Stelvio there is an brochure about the theme trail as well as a puzzle sheet for young visitors.
Also binoculars can also be rented there. Refreshments are available at the St. Georg inn in Agumes. Do you want further information about the fauna in the national park? Then the aquaprad National Park House awaits you in the main village of the municipality, in Prato.
