Powerful impressions expect when you cruise to Passo Giovo
The rather relaxing tour begins near the town of Merano at the entrance to Val Passiria Valley and continues throughout the Passeiertal Valley, known as one of South Tyrol’s most stunning valleys due to its exceptional natural beauty. At the end of the valley a road with numerous bends and turns winds up to Passo Giovo at an altitude of 2,094 m (see image). In summer, however, the road is used by a rather high number of cars.
> Our tip: On hot summer days, a gentle cool breeze will refresh your spirits; in spring and autumn the breeze however might be fairly cold!
Heading downhill on the other side, you reach the town of Vipiteno. From there it is worth embarking on a trip to the Austrian town of Innsbruck - or alternatively - return home via Passo di Pennes (2,211 m), an ideal starting point for a side trip across Val Sarentino Valley and eventually to the city of Bolzano.
