The Val Gardena valley to host the UCI Marathon World Championship again after 15 years
The UCI, the world governing body for cycling, has awarded the 2030 Mountain Bike Marathon World Championships to the Val Gardena. The World Championships in the valley will be held from June 13 to 16, 2030. The event will centre on the two legendary routes of the annual HERO Südtirol Dolomites: an 86-kilometre course with 4,500 metres of elevation gain for the men, and a 60-kilometre course with 3,200 metres of elevation gain for the women.
South Tyrol's sporting community is therefore looking forward to another major event. Before that, the 2026 Winter Olympics will take place, with the biathlon competitions held in Anterselva. In addition, the Val Gardena valley is preparing to host the 2031 Alpine Ski World Championships Val Gardena-South Tyrol on the famous slopes of Saslong and Ciampinoi.
One year later, the third edition of the UCI Cycling World Championships is going to take place as the Super Cycling World Championships 2031 in Trentino.
