In Rio Liccio, a carpentry over 100 years old is a testament to the history of this rural hamlet near Perca

Rio Liccio is the name of one of the eight hamlets of Perca and also of the village stream. The small hamlet, where only about 30 people live, is located at an altitude of under 1,000 metres, slightly below the Val Pusteria state road and west of the neighbouring village of Nessano.
The real attraction here, however, is the natural landscape, as in the entire upper part of the Val Pusteria. The Rio Liccio stream, which gives the hamlet its name, flows through it and joins the Rienza River shortly after. The Rienza is known for its floodplains. These so-called "Rienza Floodplains" are a protected biotope and stretch from Dobbiaco via Monguelfo to near Brunico.
The "Weiher in der Aue", a fishing pond behind the Perca sports area, is also part of this area and a popular destination in summer. You can also experience the riverbank from the Pusterbike Cycle Path. Coming from Brunico, it passes the Rienza Floodplain Biotope near Perca, leads through the hamlet of Rio Liccio, and continues towards Monguelfo. In winter, it is only about two kilometres to the Perca railway station, where the Ried Cable Car starts right next door.
It takes you to the World Cup-proven Plan de Corones Skiing Area. A quieter pace can be found on the winter hiking trails, the toboggan run or at the Earth Pyramids. These are located on the other side of the valley, uphill towards Vila di Sopra and Plata. By the way: The German name Litschbach derives from the medieval word "Luzzil", which roughly translates to "small".
