Fascinating antique castles, surrounded by the fruit orchards at the foot of the Monte Sole.

The toponym of the village of Coldrano, called Goldrain in German, comes from the mines in the villages which was wanted by the population to be gold. Inhabited by some 750 inhabitants, Coldrano rises in the heart of fruit orchards and vineyards on the slopes of the Monte Sole.

Coldrano Castle, mansion dating back to the XI century, was transformed into a noble residence in the course of Renaissance construction works, as well as Castel Monte Sant’Anna, the only castle in Val Venosta that is surrounded by a water ditch, are not the only sights of this village. There is also the S. Lucio parish church as well as the Sant’Anna in Schanzen chapel.
