Laces village

Landscape, culture and sports, this is Laces village, main place of one of the most charming municipalities of the Val Venosta.

Laces village, main place of the municipality, rises at 639 m, close to the place where the Val Martello branches off, which is a side valley of the Val Venosta that stretches at the foot of the Cevedale and the Cima Gioveretto at the foot of the Stelvio national park.
Not only thanks to the natural ambience in which it is immersed, between the Monte Sole and the shady forests of Monte Tramontana, Laces attracts visitors from all over.

Surrounded by the typical fruit orchards of the Val Venosta, this characteristic village provides numerous artistic and architectonic jewels that are worth visiting, such as the S. Pietro and Paolo parish church, the S. Maria in Colle church (where a menhir that dates back to the period between 3,300 m and 2,200 m was found), the Santo Spirito church, the San Nicolò church and the Maria Addolorata al Ponte chapel, as well as the castles in the immediate surroundings that harken back on a long and animated past.

From Laces you cannot only start your cultural discovery journeys, but also your hiking tours: the Monte Sole with San Martino al can be comfortably reached via a funicular, a chairlift starting from Tarres takes you on the Malga di Tarres, where there is also a skiing area (closed at the moment). Otherwise you can experience the flora and fauna of the fascinating Val Martello.

Moreover Laces offers several sports facilities such as the AquaForum with pools, sauna and spa, the sports centre SportForum for various activities, from tennis to athletics, as well as the IceForum, dedicated to winter sports on ice.
