One of the main topics in the Gruppo di Tessa Visitor Centre is water, in line with its motto “Towards the Water”

Already four decades ago, the Gruppo di Tessa Visitor Centre (Naturparkhaus Texelgruppe) was established in the secondary school of Naturno village. A recreated spring biotope, a pond biotope with tadpoles and the intriguing irrigation channels of the Val Venosta called "Waale" were shown there. In this way, the contrasts and diversity of habitats in the nature park were demonstrated. In March 2024, the new visitor centre was opened on almost 600 sqm and two floors. In addition to a media room and exhibitions, the cube-shaped building also provides space for the children's workshop of Daksy, the little badger and mascot of South Tyrolean nature parks.
Outside there are small biotopes. The move has also made it possible to completely redesign the exhibition and adapt it to the modern requirements of communication, didactics and presentation. The element of water characterises the nature park of the mighty Texel Group like nothing else. In the snail-shaped building, you can experience it in all its complexity - from the valley floor to the eternal ice and into the heart of a mudslide. You will get to know the animals and plants that live here, and there are special stations dedicated to the irrigation channels and mountain pastures. By the way: The second visitor centre is the Mooseum Information Point.
