Hike to the Lago dell’Alpe lake

This almost 8 km long walking tour with only 320 m altitude difference gives insights into the alpine landscape straight at the main Alpine ridge

Along the Passo del Rombo High Alpine Road, shortly after the Hochfirst tavern, the junction to the Seeber Alm parking space is located on the left. This parking space is starting point of our nice round trip. Here at 1,900 m a.s.l., straight at the Alpine divide, the landscape is already autumnally shaped now in September. We follow the path no. 20 towards the Oberglanegg Mountain Hut.

A short ascent with some steep sections leads us to the hut at almost 2,100 m asl., where we follow the marker no. 43A into the valley. This high route finally leads us through high alpine heath to the Lago dell'Alpe lake (Seeber See) which is fed by the melt waters of the Hochfirst Glacier. Path no. 43 proceeds down into the valley and further to the Seeber Mountain Hut (Seeber Alm).

Here the path is a little bit slippery and not in best condition, so please take care. After a rest in the Seeber Alm we follow the road out of the valley and a few minutes later we have reached our starting point again. Those who make this tour at the beginning of autumn will enjoy a gorgeous colourful landscape.
