Panoramic hike in the Val Passiria valley

Spring walk from San Leonardo and San Martino in Passiria via Mora and Sant’Orsola in Passiria to Saltusio: The high altitude path on the eastern slope of the valley proves to be comfortable for walking.

In the centre of S. Leonardo in Passiria, we take the path no. 3 (Andreas-Hofer-Weg) and proceed along the slope via the Happerg road and Kirchweg towards south. Up to the tree line, the path is asphalted, afterwards we continue across a landscape of nature and meadows. The information panel "Andreas-Hofer-Rundweg" provides details about history and nature in the surroundings of the Sandhof farm. Where the Andreas Hofer round trail branches off to the right, we leave this path and walk down to S. Martino in Passiria by taking the path no. 1A or Kammerveitweg path, stretching past the industrial zone. This is where the path joins the Passerweg trail, which is also the cycle route of the Val Passiria. At the altitude of the wooden bridge leading to S. Martino we follow the path no. 5 (Mörre/Mora), leading past the golf course and then up the steep mountain.

We walk to the sanctuary of Mora along the pilgrim's trail (Pilgerweg). Once reached the top, we cannot only admire the church, but also the fabulous view of the Val Passiria in the surroundings of San Martino. Afterwards we take the path no. 6 and walk to S. Orsole/Schweinsteg, stretching across the forest. Around S. Orsola, a little village featuring an eponymous church that can be admired from afar, there are numerous meadows that are in full blossom in April. For the way back down to the valley, we take the asphalted road to Saltusio, where we take the cycle track to the bus stop of Saltusio. This is where we take the bus to get back to S. Leonardo.
