This autumn hike with an elevation gain of just 320 metres shows us the mountain landscape directly on the Main Alpine Ridge

On the Passo del Rombo High Alpine Road above Corvara in Passiria, shortly after the Hochfirst mountain inn, the turn-off for the Seeberalm car park is on the left-hand side. This is the starting point for our eight-kilometre circular hike. In September, the landscape here on the Main Alpine Ridge at 1,900 metres above sea level already has an autumnal feel. Along the Passo del Rombo road, there are also the individual stations of the Timmel Transit Museum.
We follow path no. 20 towards the Dosso Piccolo Hut (Oberglanegg Alm). The short ascent, which has a few steep sections, takes us to the alpine hut at 2,060 metres above sea level, from where we follow path no. 43A into the valley. This high-altitude trail leads us through the heathland to the Seeber See, or Lago dell'Alpe, which is fed by meltwater from the Monte Principe Glacier.
Path no. 43 leads down into the valley and then to the Malga del Lago (Seeberalm). The path here is somewhat slippery and not in perfect condition, so care is required. After a stop at the hut, we follow the road out of the valley, which brings us back to the car park in a few minutes.
We finally arrive there after two and a half hours of walking. Anyone undertaking this hike at the beginning of autumn, as we did, can look forward to a colourful landscape.
