This medium-difficult hike discovers the steep slopes above Madonna di Senales (Unser Frau). Starting at the edge of the village (archeoParc Val Senales) we follow the signpost no. 19 towards the Malga Lafetz mountain hut (forest road) to the Mastaunhof farm. Path no. 17A leads to the Mastaun Mountain Hut and from there as a trail further into the valley.

Shortly after the Mastaun Mountain Hut (Mastaunalm) we reach a junction where we turn into path no. 19. This leads up the steep slope to the Monte Lafetz or Mastaunpichl. Through a partly rocky landscape, overgrown with alpine roses, knobby larches and Swiss stone pines, we finally reach the highest point of our round tour at almost 2,300 m a.s.l. The Monte opens the view on the Similaun. The path now becomes flatter and soon the descent begins. Following the signpost "Lafetzalm" we finally reach the alpine pasture where we can finally stop for a bite to eat.

No matter if it's for lunch, a snack or a coffee - the Lafetz Mountain Hut is always good for a break. From here we finally descend back down into the valley following the alpine road (forest path). Alternatively, there is also path no. 19, which runs through the forest and is a little steeper but shorter than the forest path. In addition to the beautiful alpine huts, the flora with countless alpine roses is also a highlight in June, as well as the view, if you are just a little luckier than we.
