The historic district of Bolzano is meeting point in every season, both for old and young, inhabitants and guests.
The city of Bolzano is above all known for its historic centre. The arcades, the alleys, the lovely corners of the city and the varied programme regarding culture in the heart of the city attract a large number of visitors. Bolzano is by the way also the seat of the provincial government and of most of the administrative departments. Soak up the enchanting atmosphere of the city while shopping in the arcades or while you have a cup of delicious Italian Caffé Macchiato on Piazza Walther.
Also culture is of utmost importance in the city, the offer ranges from museums to theatre and concerts, there is something for every taste. And even if you are in the heart of the city, there are several “green oases”, such as the Prato Talvera, a meadow in the middle of the city which in warmer months is meeting point number one.
Rencio is the name of the city quarter that can be reached driving from the historic district towards the Renon. Slightly underneath there is the artisan zone Piani di Bolzano. An event that is rather popular is the village fair of S. Maddalena, a vine-growing village above Rencio. Celebrated on July 22, on this occasion the vine-growing farms present their wine of the last vintage, gastronomic offers, music and entertainment make the event complete. By the way, S. Maddalena is the largest vine-growing area of Bolzano.
Our tip: a visit in the Archaeological Museum in Via Museo. This is the place where the famous Icemen Oetzi can be admired. An unforgettable experience for all family members.
