The village of Trodena forms the heart of the hiking area and Monte Corno Nature Park

A gently rolling landscape, farms scattered like tiny specks across the meadows, and Mt. Corno Bianco and Corno Nero in the distance: Trodena is the main village of Trodena in the nature park. Its centre clusters around the Church of St. Blaise, which houses a statue of Our Lady of Mercy. The traditional Blessing of St Blaise in early February is believed to protect against throat ailments.
Right next to the church stands a striking witness to the village's history: a 600-year-old linden tree, which is now held together by iron bars and support struts. Village meetings used to take place beneath its canopy - today, it is the local landmark of Trodena (Truden Dorf). The leisurely half-hour circular trail is a great way to explore the hamlet in peace.
The heart of the region is the Monte Corno Nature Park, featuring the Trodena Legend Trail and a Kneipp recreation area. Due to its unique location, different climatic zones meet here, ranging from a harsh mountain climate at high altitudes to sub-Mediterranean influences in the valley. This makes the park the most biodiverse in all of South Tyrol. Its visitor centre is housed in an old mill.
Thanks to this pristine natural landscape, Trodena has been awarded the "European Hiking Village" seal of quality. Highlights include the Trodena High Route, a trail of around four and a half hours that leads from the hamlet past the Pera-Schupf ruins to the Passo Cislòn and back. The area is also attractive for mountain bikers: Several alpine pastures are easily accessible via forest trails, and you can loop around the Monte Corno in about three hours. On the edge of the village, the Runggen sports zone features tennis courts, football pitches, and a natural playground.
