The nearly three-hour walk around the Monte Cislon in the Monte Corno Nature Park features panoramic views from the Monte Cucul
Image gallery: Hike from Trodena to the Malga Cislon hut
We start this hike in the centre of Trodena under slightly cloudy skies. Path no. 1 leads us along a road towards the Cislon Mountain Hut. The first section of this road is asphalted and also very steep in parts. After about 45 minutes of walking, we reach the alpine pasture. It sits on a wide terrace surrounded by green meadows and a small pond at an altitude of 1,254 metres.
From here, we enjoy a lovely view of the Bassa Atesina and the Mendola Ridge. We now follow trail marker no. 2, which takes us through the forest in a northerly and then easterly direction. At a sharp right bend, the narrow path no. 2A branches off towards the 1,570-metre-high Monte Cucul.
Surefootedness is essential here - this point marks the absolute end of the route for pushchairs. We continue along the path that winds past the steeply dropping rocks of the Monte Cucul in the Monte Corno Nature Park. This section reveals an impressive view over the areas of Aldino and Nova Ponente, as well as the Rio delle Foglie canyon and the Mendola Ridge.
We then start our descent back down to Trodena, where this circular walk ends after nearly three hours. The final section is a wide, stone-paved cart track.
