The small centre of the municipality of San Pancrazio consists of winding alleys, along which the village's most important facilities are lined up: a nursery, school, retirement home, bank, town hall, a restaurant and the volunteer fire brigade. This village core is also called the "Dörfl".
This also includes the Parish Church of St. Pancras and the small St. Sebastian's Chapel right next to it, which commemorates the victims of the plague. Like all villages in the Val d'Ultimo, San Pancrazio is also named after its patron saint. In the middle of the village stands a building worth pausing for: the "Beckenhäusl". Its core dates back to the 13th century and it is considered one of the oldest surviving farmhouses in the Val d'Ultimo. Today, it is called the "Beckenchristlhaus".
The second name commemorates a Mr. Christl who once sold bread here. The ceiling on the ground floor is still supported by a late Gothic forked pillar. The venerable building was renovated a few years ago. Around San Pancrazio village (St. Pankraz Dorf), there are several worthwhile destinations for excursions, such as the Falkomai Mountain Huts, which are impressive at the beginning of summer with their blooming alpine roses. Three of the mountain huts are managed.
From the neighbouring hamlet of Pavicolo, a path leads to the Monte San Vigilio above Lana. In the cold months, there is a small skiing area and pleasant winter hiking trails here. The larger Schwemmalm Ski Area is located further up the valley and can be reached in a 15-minute drive.
