Alliz

In the “Litzer Waldele” forest near Alliz, at the entrance to the Val Gadria valley, a high-rope course attracts visitors young and old

It is the third largest district of Lasa and was an independent municipality until a century ago: Alliz. Perhaps this is why it is the only hamlet that is situated towards the Lower Val Venosta, while all the other districts of Lasa spread out towards the upper part. The buildings here at the foot of the Monte Sole, the Sun Mountain, are divided into Alliz di Sotto (Lower Alliz) and Alliz di Sopra (Upper Alliz): Alliz di Sopra refers to the 8 farms that extend up to almost 1,800 m a.s.l. and together have the right to use the Trögerwald forest and the alpine pastures on the Upper and Lower Mountain.

Two cultural gems in Alliz (Allitz) are the Church of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary from 1640 and the Holy Trinity Chapel at the Untertröghof farm. According to legend, this little church was built by a sacristan from Lasa out of gratitude in 1752, when his missing child was found here unscathed. The area was known long before: Where the Church of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary stands, pottery shards prove a settlement site of the older Bronze Age.

The "Litzer Waldele", a popular recreational area, stretches along the edge of the village. It was created as a protective forest because Alliz was repeatedly threatened by a mudslide during storms. Today, the Lasa high-rope course attracts visitors who can test themselves here between the treetops on 100 platforms. If you prefer to explore the surroundings in a leisurely way, a path leads you along the sunny slope from Alliz to Corces, and then along the Zaalwaal and Ilswaal irrigation channels to Silandro - a highlight in spring during the time of the apple blossom.
