Hike to Alliz and Lasa

A nice tour in spring while the apple blossom: Paths through meadows lead us through the middle part of the Val Venosta

Silandro (Schlanders) - the main village of Val Venosta valley - is our starting point of this spring walking-tour. We start at the market square and take the marker no. 7 into the direction of Monte Sole, this is the entrance to the Schlandrauntal. Then we have to follow the marker "Sonnenpromenade". This path leads us westerly, we walk under apple trees, which are planted in terraces. At its end we follow the marker "Ilswaal" (Waalweg path) which we reach after a short rise and which leads us still into western direction. This "Ilswaal" runs through meadows covered with chestnut trees, macchia and fruit trees and brings us close to Corzes (Kortsch).

There the path ends (under the Church of St. Giles) and we have to walk up again, this time to the path named "Zaalwaal" (marker no. 6A). Now we nearly have reached the 1,000 mt above see level, we keep on walking in western direction, the valley below us. We pass two old mills, then the path turns down to the valley. At the sports grounds of Corzes we follow the marker no. 15A which leads us up to Alliz (Allitz). The landscape here is very charming because the very dry hillsides of Monte Sole hit the amazing green and watery meadows with fruit trees at the downhill side.

After a while we reach the village Alliz, where we follow the marker no. 19 downhill. Through apple trees full in flower we come to the village of Lasa which is well known for its marble. For our way back to Silandro we take the Val Venosta Train.
