Luigi Dallapiccola Concert

The Monteverdi in Concert 2026 season opens with a concert dedicated to Luigi Dallapiccola, a central figure in 20th-century European music. Inspired by the idealistic and poetic world of Sturm und Drang, the series finds in the Istrian composer a particularly meaningful starting point.

The programme features the vocal cycles Rencesvals and Quattro liriche di Antonio Machado, Tartiniana seconda and the Due studi for violin and piano, Ciaccona, Intermezzo e Adagio for solo cello, Piccola musica notturna for eight instruments, and Lumen by Franco Donatoni, a tribute inspired by Dallapiccola’s final notes.

The performers will be the soloists and chamber musicians of the Monteverdi Conservatory Ensemble.
