Although it is cloudy today we risk to do this walk to the natural monument of Collepietra. Above the village we find the first marker with the inscription “Pyramidenrundweg. A partly narrow path curls up the hillside above the Val di Tires. We have view on the other side of the valley with the Sciliar and the village Aica di Fiè. The Sciliar and the Catinaccio are covered with mist which clears only slowly. Our round-trip first leads us down towards Briè and up the hillside again.
After about one hour we reach our target, the earth pyramids. A lot of theories and legends about these pyramids are around. The most well-known one is written on an info panel at the lookout point. We walk further to Collepietra and visit the small chapel “Weißenbild” on the wayside. Meanwhile the fog has covered the pyramids, we take a last photo.
