This hike takes us to the trail through the Labyrinth - a landscape of rocks and stones in the shadow of the Latemar

In changeable weather, we set off from the Passo di Costalunga and follow signposts 21 and 17 below the Latemar. We start on a wide forest track and then follow path number 13 through the woods until we reach the first signposts for the "Labyrinth" (no. 20).
The forest ends abruptly, and the Labyrinth lies right before us beneath the mighty walls of the Latemar Group. It is a lunar landscape made up of scree and boulders that must have fallen from the mountain over time. And where exactly does a path lead through here? If you pay close attention to the red and white markings, you will easily find it.
Although you do not have to do any real climbing here, the route goes through rock tunnels and over steps carved into the stone. At the end of the Labyrinth, the path continues through the forest to the Mitterleger, an unmanaged alpine hut at 1,840 metres above sea level. From there we follow path no. 21 (Pearl Trail) through the spruce forests towards the Passo di Costalunga.
It is an easy path and perhaps less exciting than the Labyrinth, but if you keep your eyes open and focus on the flora and fauna of the forest, you can discover all sorts of things here! After a circular walk of almost three hours, we return to the starting point with many new impressions.
