This leisurely circular hike takes you to the Earth Pyramids of Collepietra, high above the Valle di Tires valley

Despite the cloudy weather, we embark on this leisurely hike to the famous natural monument of Collepietra. Just above the village, we find the first signpost bearing the unmistakable logo and the inscription "Pyramidenrundweg" (Pyramid Circular Trail). A path, narrow in sections, winds its way along the slope above the Valle di Tires. The view is drawn to the other side of the valley, revealing the Sciliar area and Aica di Fié. The Sciliar and the Catinaccio are shrouded in mist.
The route initially leads slightly down into the valley towards Briè, passing a few farmsteads before climbing back up the slope. After about an hour, we finally reach them: the Earth Pyramids of Collepietra. These witnesses to geological history have continually inspired local theories and legends. A capstone protects the tall earth columns from wind, weather, and erosion. The most famous of these tales is displayed on an information board at the best viewpoint.
Afterwards we walk towards Collepietra. On the way back, we visit the Weissenbild Chapel by the side of the trail. By now, the mist has enveloped the Pyramids, providing the perfect excuse for one last photograph. After an hour and a half, we arrive back at our starting point.
