This family hike leads past the Frankbach Waterfall and along the “Hexensteig” to the Bizat Hut, which was once a small farm

Our hike starts at the Platterhof mountain inn at an altitude of 1,157 metres, above San Giovanni Aurina. We initially follow the "Hexensteig" (Witches Path) signpost without any significant incline and simultaneously find ourselves on one of the Valle Aurina Sun Trails.
Information boards along the way provide details about past events. After walking for about 15 minutes, we follow the "Wasserfall" (waterfall) sign, which leads us down to the Frankbach Waterfall. Afterwards, we return to the Witches Path and walk along path no. 18 towards the Bizat Hut. The route goes steadily upwards, partly through the forest and partly across meadows.
Children enjoy spending time at the individual stations along the themed trail, such as the bear cave, the sun witch's house, and the climbing wall. After a good hour, we reach the Bizat Hut at an altitude of 1,416 metres (50 minutes pure walking time). It is a fantastic spot for kids, featuring a playground, ponds, and a petting zoo. The new Chapel of the Resurrection is part of the grounds.
From here, we can enjoy a beautiful view of several mountains in the Valle Aurina, some of which are still covered in snow. These include the Monte Fumo in the main ridge of the Zillertal Alps and the Cima Dura, the highest mountain in the Durreck Group. We return along the same route.
