During Advent, South Tyrol's wonderful Christmas markets attract numerous visitors. The Forst brewery near Merano, the largest one in South Tyrol, organises its own Christmas event during Advent. In buildings and restaurants of the brewery complex in Foresta (Forst), the southernmost hamlet of Lagundo, you are welcomed by cosy fireplaces and comfortable deckchairs where you can taste the local cuisine.
The Forst Christmas Forest is composed of the Forst pavilion with its illuminated glass houses, the historic Sala Sixtus Hall, heated tents, the Braustüberl pub and the Forst hut. The Christmas stalls offer South Tyrolean delicacies and local products including mountain cheese, jams, wooden and felt objects.
Little guests will be amazed by the St. Nicholas and the Krampus appearances. A rich entertainment programme with cabaret shows and ice rinks with ice skate rental means great fun for the whole family. Each Year, the Forst brewery produces its own limited-edition Forst Christmas Beer, a South Tyrolean beer with a mild malt aroma. The Forst Christmas Forest is one of the first South Tyrolean Christmas Markets to open and can be visited from 19 November to 6 January. From 19 November until Christmas it is open from Wednesday to Sunday and from 25 December to 6 January every day.
