Ski tour to Mount Col di Poma

This easy ski tour is also ideal for beginners and takes us on a mountain on which the Odle Peaks seem within our reach

Starting point for our ski tour is the parking space of the Zannes Mountain Hut (Zanser Alm, 1,685 m a.s.l.) in Santa Maddalena di Funes (St. Magdalena in Villnöss) in the real part of the valley. From this place we take the summer path towards the Busa Mountain Hut (Wörndle Lochalm). At the beginning, the path is rather flat, and we walk along the left side of the Rio Kaserill stream.

Soon we reach one of the toboggan runs of the valley, walk along this wide path and continue across the forest, heading for the Kaserill Mountain Hut at 1,920 m a.s.l. The forest belt is overcome and in the open country we continue towards the Busa Mountain Hut (2,040 m a.s.l.). We follow the course of the valley, in a wide right bend we walk round the rough rocks of Mt. Col di Poma (Zendleser Kofel). In the north east of the summit, we reach a saddle, and without any difficulty we continue to the top (2,422 m a.s.l.), a highly panoramic place that is marked by a cross.

From this place we enjoy a great view of the Val di Funes valley and the Odle Group towering into the sky on the opposite side. For skiing down we choose the route on which we walked up. In case of secure conditions you can directly ski down to the Genova Mountain Hut (Schlütterhütte). Ski tour without any technical difficulties, also suitable for beginners, not too long. Easy back-country tour in the Dolomites with a great view on the Odle Group, ideal in the whole winter season!
