Ski tour to Mount Cima del Tempo

Mt. Cima del Tempo (2,709 m a.s.l.) in Fleres is a worthwhile but highly challenging tour destination in the southern Stubai Alps.

A highlight in the Val di Fleres valley is on our programme on this day. By car we reach Sant'Antonio in the Val di Fleres valley (St. Anton in Pflersch), across a bridge we reach the hamlet of Sasso (Stein) and follow the signposts to the parking space no. 3, where the forested trail to the Alberes Mountain Hut (Allriss Alm) starts. On skis we follow from here - at 1,241 m a.s.l. - the trail to the Alberes Mountain Hut, several times we can shorten the trail in direct way across the forest.

At 1,534 m a.s.l. we reach the hut, which looks really inviting, but so far we resist. For a little while we still follow the forested trail leading us across the beautiful Valle di Alberes valley (Allrisstal), then we traverse nice skiing grounds towards the head of the valley. Underneath the Passo del Muro ridge (Mauererscharte) we need to walk up a steep slope. In zigzag we finally reach the pass (2,511 m a.s.l.), that provides a fabulous view on the surrounding mountains. With skis we walk towards east, it is getting very steep and we approach the cross at the summit. From the ski depot we walk to the highest point of Mt. Cima del Tempo (Wetterspitze, 2,709 m a.s.l.).

From the highest point we can enjoy a breathtaking view on the Stubai Alps, the striking Tribulaun as well as the glaciers of the Val di Fleres valley. When skiing down, we stop at the cosy Alberes Mountain Hut. Ski tour for experienced ski mountaineers, especially recommendable in spring. Absolute secure conditions required , as the slopes are very steep. Be careful also in case of icy snow, take ski crampons and ice pick for the summit. Danger of snow slabs. Recommendable after a clear and cold night!
