Plan

From the traffic-free centre of Plan directly into the alpine pastures and onto the ski slopes

Plan lies in a high-alpine heath landscape at the very end of the Valle di Plan. You park outside the village, as the centre is quiet and car-free. The innovative mobility concept works here because everything is within walking distance: the information office, the ski and snowboard school, and the "Dorflodn" (village shop). It is the highest permanent settlement in the rear Val Passiria.

From here, you head straight into the alpine pastures. If you follow the forest path, you will soon reach the Spider Park High Ropes Course. Afterwards, the route continues on pleasantly wide paths to destinations such as the Lazins Farm, the Faltschnal Hut, or the famous Sopranes Lakes in the Gruppo di Tessa Nature Park. Mountain tours take you to the Cima delle Anime and the Petrarca all'Altissima Hut, which forms a stage of the multi-day tour on the Merano High Route.

The lifts also invite you to explore the heights: The Grünboden Express takes you up to over 2,000 metres. This is where the slopes of the Plan Passiria Skiing Area start in winter. There is also an alternative way down: Mountain carts are the vehicles used to descend the forest track to the valley, accompanied by bumping, rumbling, and usually widely audible laughter.

In winter, hikers and ski tourers meet here, while cross-country skiers use the parallel trail on paths such as the one to the Lazins Hut. The history of the Valle di Plan goes back a long way - the first settlement took place from Tyrol Castle near Merano: Some farms that still exist were built in the 13th century. However, intensive tourism development has not taken place so far - Plan (Pfelders) is quite quiet and, as a member of the "Alpine Pearls" network, it should stay that way.
