The Kaserhof farm is located at 1,320 m asl and is really versatile: since 1990 the popular family destination has been dedicating itself to the breed of full-blooded Arab horses and is considered the highest located stud of Europe. Since 1996 they also breed lamas and alpacas. The oldest and largest lama farm of Italy bears the name “de Oro” and is by the way one of the most successful on European scale. However, this farm has also a role to play in healthcare and therapy, as the interaction with lamas has a positive impact on body and soul.
Wednesdays are special days at the Kaserhof farm, as this is the day when visitors take the leash and walk to the earth pyramids together with the lamas. The intelligent and docile animals carry the bags while people and animals walk along the old Roman road towards the natural monument. Once reached the earth pillars, you can enjoy an afternoon snack with home-made bacon, wine and apple juice. If you wish for tours of more days, ask at the farm.
Goose, chicken, dogs, cats and Scottish Highland cattles complete the wide range of animals at the farm. By the way, the farm was reconstructed in 2002 and provides a tavern that is perfect for a stop. Ideal for an afternoon chat with coffee, cake and chocolate after a great day with the lamas.
