Children's eyes light up when knights ride into battle, such as at the annual Medieval Knight Games South Tyrol in the Val Venosta, when street artists offer fascinating performances at Asfaltart, the Street Art Festival in Merano, or when sheep and South Tyrolean delicacies await at the Harvest Festival on the Piazza Walther square in Bolzano.
Other themes also attract great interest from families: strawberries from the Val Martello with the Strawberry Festival and the Strawberry Queen, steep rock faces for climbing, and archery. Another event that delights young and old alike every year is the Christmas Markets.
