video : Merano
Starting from Bolzano, we proceed towards south, along the Isarco. At the southern border of the city, between fruit orchards, we reach a fork, where we take the right towards Merano.
The trail follows the Adige river, after the second railroad crossing (Ponte Adige) we proceed on the right riverside. No real ascent, the villages of Terlano, Nalles, Vilpiano and Gargazzone pass by our side. At the train station of Lana-Postal (Burgstall) we can turn left (towards Lana) or right (towards Postal) to visit the villages - or we carry on along the Adige river via Sinigo to Maia Bassa - short afterwards we reach Merano. Through the roads of the town we reach the centre.
From Merano it is also possible to cycle up to the Val Venosta valley along the Adige river.
