A stunning view on the Dolomite mountain range characterises this pleasant hike.
Monte Lutta is a roundish elevation in the north east of the localities Monguelfo and Tesido. The summit, which is free from trees, offers a great view on the Dolomites and Alta Val Pusteria.
Our hike to the summit of Monte Lutta starts at the “Mudler Hof” at (1,584 m a.s.l.), which can be reached by car from Tesido. This is where the trail no. 31 starts, taking along a forest road and later on on a trail across the forest to the so called Brunnenwiesen meadows. Then the trail diverts to the right, leading onto our hiking destination at 2,145 m a.s.l., which also represents the highest point of our hike.
Along rather plain terrain we proceed across a ridge, always on path no. 31 and soon we reach the “Taistner Alm” at 1,992 m a.s.l. after a final short ascend. Stop for a bite to eat and have a drink, as afterwards we walk on on path no. 38, our trail back, which leads us back to the starting point.
