Snowshoe hike to Passo Cugola

Easy snowshoeing tour across the snow-capped landscape at the Corno Nero with a view to the Brenta, Lagorai and Dolomite mountains.

Passo Oclini, located at 2,000 m a.s.l., is the starting point of our tour with the snowshoes. It can be reached via the Val d'Ega and the Passo Lavazé. From the parking space of the small skiing area (near the Hotel Schwarzhorn) we traverse the ski slope and follow the signpost "Malga Cugola - Kugelalm", leading the way into the forest at the foot of the Corno Nero mountain. Slightly the way up, the path leads us to the Passo Cugola (in German Kugeljoch). The view of the Brenta Dolomites and the Valle dell'Adige valley is just amazing.

Once the top of the pass is reached we can also admire the Val di Fiemme and the mountains of the Lagorai. The small but mighty and overall sunny Malga Cugola pasture, located at the top of the pass, is ideal for a break and for eating our packed lunch. For the way back, we follow the sign "Malga Isi" (Isi Hütte), located at 1,850 m asl, at the foot of the Corno Bianco. This is also where the slopes of the Passo Oclini - Jochgrimm skiing area lead. This is only a stone's throw from our starting point. You can rent snowshoes at the ski rental in Lavazé.
