One of the bathing establishments around Lake Caldaro is called Gretl am See: It is home to the only windsurfing school in South Tyrol

In San Giuseppe al Lago there are two bathing establishments right next to each other: One is the Lake Caldaro Lido with its outdoor pool and terrace, the other is the neighbouring Gretl am See bathing establishment. Swimming, surfing, sailing, SUP and pedal boating are already possible in late spring - not for nothing Lake Caldaro is considered the warmest bathing lake in the Alps. Gretl am See offers the necessary equipment with its boat, SUP and surfing equipment rentals.
In addition to the lake access with wooden jetty, the bathing establishment also has an outdoor pool measuring 25 x 12.5 metres. The large sunbathing lawn and the bar with restaurant, which provides a Mediterranean flair with its palm trees, are perfect to relax. In the only windsurfing school in South Tyrol, you can book basic courses, children's courses and private lessons and take the theory exam on the last day to obtain the internationally valid VAW basic windsurfing licence.
