Surrounded by the vast green forests of the Renon high plateau and accessible via a small mountain road, Lake Costalovara lies on the edge of the eponymous little village Costalovara. Above it is the Beekeeping Museum at the Plattner Farm. The lake is designated as a bathing lake and a popular meeting place in summer: The large sunbathing lawn in the middle of nature, the headland that almost divides the lake in half and the catering facilities are all part of it.
The lake is also known for its water quality: According to Legambiente, the Italian environmental protection organisation, it is one of the 10 cleanest freshwater lakes in Italy. The hotel of the same name on the shore has an indoor swimming pool with sauna, which can be used for a fee.
