The skiing area on the Oclini Pass or Jochgrimm, a 1,989 m high pass in the municipality of Aldino, is of rather modest dimensions and therefore an ideal destination for families. There is something for every taste, ranging from ski slopes for beginners to a steep ski run and a toboggan run for kids. Fanti, the little elephant of the Fantiland, the area for children, will accompany the kids.
Seven km of ski slopes equipped with four lift facilities are available. There's no ski bus service - the slopes start at your front door or at the Passo Oclini parking space: Two of the lift facilities are magic carpets and take you on the easy downhill runs, the other ones are chairlifts. The qualified ski instructors of the Passo Oclini Ski School help you with your first tries. A unique place is the Hotel Corno Nero directly at the slopes, specialised in groups of schoolchildren and youths.
The area is also popular with cross-country skiers. Its 3.5 and 8 km long high-altitude trails snake across the winter landscape and provide a great view on the valley and the surrounding peaks. The connections to the cross-country ski network on the Passo Lavazé and to the high plateau of Nova Ponente, Monte San Pietro and Aldino expand the cross-country ski offer to 80 km of tracks.
