Hike on the Merano High Route

Indulge in the pleasure of a multi-day tour around the Tessa Group, on on of the most beautiful hiking paths of the Alps

This tour is considered to be one of the most amazing tours throughout the alpine area. You will feel like on a unique panorama terrace, when you hike along stretches of the 100 km long path. Enjoy the fabulous view on Merano, the Val Senales, the Val Passirio as well as the Val Sarentino mountains and the Alps of the Stubai and Ötztal, while walking across lush meadows and dense forests. If the weather is good you might even see the Dolomites and the Gruppo di Brenta.

You have got several different possibilities to start and terminate your hike along the "Alta Via di Merano", as the circular hiking path is called (Meraner Höhenweg, in German). However, there is a South and North path. The latter starts at Monte San Caterina in Val Senales and terminates at Ulvas, where the Southern hiking trail begins, which takes you to the highest point of the trail, which is the Passo Gelato (Eisjöchl, 2,895 m a.s.l.). Coming from the direction of Ulvas, the difference in altitude is about 1500 m. However, along the Merano high alpine path, there are several possibilities to stop off or stay overnight, as this tour requires several days.
