This circular hike on the Monte Sole above Naturno is ideal for a beautiful autumn day. We start in the centre of Naturno and walk towards Naturno Castle. Shortly before reaching the castle, the Vogeltenn Promenade branches off to the right. This pleasant path leads slightly upwards through the autumn-coloured vineyard landscape and continues as trail no. 39.
At the next junction, we follow the path uphill to the Wiedenplatzerkeller, which then continues to ascend to the Wallburg Path and the Naturno Waalweg path, a historic irrigation channel trail. Here we reach the ridge and hike towards the Wallburgboden. Below us lie the valley floor of the Val Venosta and Naturno. We continue through the autumn deciduous forest into the valley of the Rio della Chiesa stream and along the western side of the valley to the Waalerhütte hut.
The path continues without any significant inclines along the Monte Sole in the Val Venosta and leads past a Kneipp facility to the Wallburgboden. This is a place of cultural and spiritual significance along the former historic irrigation channels and an excellent viewpoint.
Here, we can enjoy the sun and take in the landscape. Directly below us, the Val Senales branches off from the Val Venosta, and the view sweeps from the snow-covered Angelo Grande over to Juval Castle. The descent back down to Naturno takes us along the Gsindboden nature trail.
This trail leads to the Langwies snack bar. From there, it is only a few minutes to the centre of Naturno, where our circular hike ends after two and a half hours.
