The Val Passiria valley near Merano offers its residents and summer guests two outdoor swimming pools, both easily accessible by car and public transport. The one in San Leonardo is open daily from May to September and awaits you with a water slide and waterfall, whirlpools and water massages as well as two children's pools. You can relax on water loungers in the water and outside there is a large sunbathing area with free deckchairs.
The SportArena Passiria is also an interesting place in other respects: Inside, a large climbing and boulder wall is visible through the glass windows. It is one of the indoor climbing walls the region has to offer besides the natural climbing gardens. Climbing, playing tennis and bowling are as much a part of the leisure activities as playing beach volleyball on sea sand and with floodlights in the evening. Also the hike along the "Passeirer Schluchtenweg" path starts at the building.

Depending on the weather, the start and end dates of the swimming season at all outdoor pools in South Tyrol may be shortened or extended at short notice, or postponed to another day.
The swimming season for 2026 is expected to begin in mid-June or at the end of June.
