Autumn hike along the Wallburg Path of Naturno

This circular walk at the Monte Sole in Naturno is ideal for a beautiful autumnal day: Ancient wall remains and prehistoric findings above the entrance to the Val Senales valley, named the place ”Wallburg”

Our starting point is the village centre of Naturno (Naturns). We walk towards Naturno Castle, shortly before the Vogeltenn Promenade turns on the right. Slightly uphill this mall proceeds through the autumnal coloured wine landscape and continues as path no. 39. At the junction we follow the path uphill to the Wiedenplatzerkeller tavern and further up to the Wallburg Path. Here the ascent is finished and we walk towards the "Wallburgböden".

Below us we can see the Val Venosta valley and Naturno. We continue our walk through the autumnal broadleaf forest into the valley of the Kirchbach creek and to the old house of the "Waaler" at the western side of the valley, the former keeper of the Senales irrigation channel. Without any efforts we walk past a Kneipp facility to the Wallburgböden viewpoint.

Here we enjoy the sun and the view on the snowy Ortles group and Juval Castle. Back to Naturno we walk along the nature trail which proceeds to the Langwies rest point. From there we have only few more minutes to come back to the village centre of Naturno, where our circular walk ends.
