Rodengo Bee Trail

Bees and honey are the central themes of a 6.5 km hiking trail in the Valle Isarco valley that is suitable for families

It was in 2006 when Rodengo opened its Bee Trail, together with two other themed paths, as a part of the project "Rodengo - The Golden Mountain". Soon the 6.5 km long trail (approx. 2 hours) became a popular destination for families. The information office in the district of Villa serves as the starting point, and then you can take a look into the world of bees with the help of interesting information boards. Wooden plaques in the shape of honeycombs serve as signposts.

The Rodengo Bee Trail - "Bienenweg Rodeneck" in German, "Sentiero delle Api" in Italian - first leads via the natural staircase to the Locher Farm and then towards Sandegg. Then it continues to the hamlet of Spissa and through the forest to the Astner slope, with a magnificent view on Rodengo Castle, which can also be visited. The hike ends at the starting point again, 215 metres in altitude are covered in total. By the way: From June to September, a weekly guided tour with a beekeeper is offered. The experience is called "Bieneng'schichtn" (Bee Stories)...
