From the village centre of Tiso through woods and sunny meadows to the Jochhöfe farms and back to the centre via a botanical trail

Tiso at the entrance to the Val di Funes is the starting point of our spring hike. This family-friendly loop is also ideal for the summer months, as the paths run mostly through the forest. Starting from the village centre, we join the "Gratschenberg" circular trail near the Stern inn.
At first, we follow the tarmac road to a residential area. Then we head into the forest along forest trail no. 11. The path gradually becomes steeper and narrower, offering occasional views of the mighty Odle Group at the end of the valley, which define the landscape of Funes.
At the next junction, we follow the signs for "Jochhöfe" along trail no. 12. Having completed the climb, we continue along a wider forest path. The views of the Villandro Alp are beautiful.
At the next intersection, we turn onto trail no. 30A towards Tiso. First, the path leads downhill through the woods, followed by an easy forest road. Shortly before reaching Tiso again, we come to a botanical nature trail created by local school children. Here, we learn interesting facts about the local flora. To round off the hike, we highly recommend a detour to the Calvary Hill.
This Hill of the Holy Sepulchre is the finest viewpoint in Tiso - the Holy Grave Chapel there was built in the Baroque style at the end of the 17th century. The Tiso Mineral Museum in the village centre, famous for its "Spheres of Tiso", is also well worth a visit, though it only opens from April.
