Solda Skiing Area

Snow-sure skiing fun until May: That’s the Solda Glacier Ski Area in the well-known Stelvio National Park

The Solda Skiing Area in the upper Venosta Valley, part of the Ortler Skiarena, boasts modern infrastructure. This includes the 10-person gondola lift, one of the most modern cable cars in the Alps. It starts on the edge of the village of Solda (Sulden) and is easily accessible by ski bus. Here, near Mt. Ortles and Mt. Gran Zebrù, you're surrounded by 12 more three-thousanders.

Forty kilometres of pistes of all difficulty levels and three ungroomed slopes - Hochleiten, Schaubachweg, and Marlet - await you. Solda is known for its long descents, and the deep-snow slopes are ideal for freeriders and telemark skiers. For snowboarders and freeskiers, there's the fun park with a halfpipe and boardercross right next to the Madriccio Mountain Hut.

You'll also find the avalanche training camp there, where you can practise using avalanche transceivers. If you're a beginner or getting back on skis after a break, you'll find ideal conditions in the lower part of the area. The Solda Ski School, which has been around for 75 years, offers specialised courses, as well as children’s courses and the Yeti Club ski kindergarten.

The ski season starts between late October and mid-November and doesn't end until May. At night, the connecting slope from the Pulpito to the cable car transforms into a two-kilometre-long toboggan run, illuminated three times a week. It's one of the many toboggan runs in the Val Venosta. The Solda Skiing Area also offers a high-altitude cross-country ski trail, homologated for competitions. And you can watch ice climbers at the icefalls below the middle station.

Altitude: 1,900 - 3,250 m a.s.l.
Ski slopes: 48.5 km (19.5 km easy / 12.9 km medium / 7.8 km difficult / 8.3 km ungroomed)
Snowmaking: 100% of the slopes
Lift facilites: 11 lifts

Toboggan runs: 1 run (Solda night toboggan run 2 km)
Cross-country ski tracks: 1 trail (Solda high-altitude track 4.8 km)
