video : 3 Zinnen Dolomites skiing area
The 3 Zinnen Dolomites skiing region - or 3 Cime Dolomiti, in Italian - in the Upper Val Pusteria includes the skiing areas Monte Elmo-Orto del Toro-Croda Rossa, Monte Baranci, Monte Croce, Skicenter Rienza in Dobbiaco, Braies, Waldheim in Sesto, and Val Comelico which belongs to the Italian Province of Belluno. It thus combines 110 km of slopes and 34 lift facilities. For some years now, the new 3 Zinnen Cable Car provides the connection between Mt. Elmo and Mt. Croda Rossa.
This was followed by numerous new features: Mt. Elmo inaugurated the Kristlerhang slope, the Monte Elmo Fun Park and the Hasenköpfl premium 8-seater chairlift, whereas Mt. Croda Rossa added the Signaue II valley run and the Croda Rossa Fun Slope. Snowboarders and those who are looking for an adrenaline rush can look forward e.g. to several snow parks in the single skiing areas, or to the steepest slope of South Tyrol: the Holzriese run with a gradient of 71%.
All skiing areas are accessible with one ticket only, the 3 Zinnen Dolomites ski pass or the Dolomiti Superski pass. In the near future, there are plans to create a connection between the ski resort and the Thurnthaler skiing area on the Austrian side in East Tyrol which features 50 km of slopes.
