video : Casanova Castle near Terlano
It is the beginning of December and winter has already reached most parts of the country. But here in the Valle dell'Adige valley the sun is shining on this winter day and we decide to go for a little walk. By car we drive to Terlano (Terlan), where we turn towards Meltina (Mölten) and follow the road for a few hundred metres. The Margarethe Trail (Margarethenweg) starts directly along the road, where we also park our car in a small indentation.
The temperatures are pleasant and the sun shines directly in our faces. We enjoy the moment to the fullest before we start our walk. In 1963 the Terlano Beautification Association laid out the Margarethe Promenade. The name of the path reminds of Margaret, Countess of Tyrol, who lived in Casanova Castle (Ruine Neuhaus). The promenade also takes us right up to this place.
We are on the sunny side of the mountain and once we have arrived at the castle we can enjoy the warming sunbeams. But not only that, also the panorama and the ruins attract our attention. As the sun disappears behind the mountains we return to our car and are happy to have enjoyed such a beautiful sunny day even in December.
