“A festival with two souls” - that’s how the dance festival in July, one of the highlights of the Bolzano Summer of Culture, is called

In the second half of July, Bolzano becomes a dance stage: International stars and dance enthusiasts then meet at the Municipal Theatre on the Verdi Square or - open air - in the newly designed Capuchin Garden to enjoy the sophisticated performances. To learn dance, develop their movement skills and see the works of some of the greatest international choreographers onstage is the aim of the festival, which has been attracting students and young people from South Tyrol, from all of Italy and from the entire German-speaking area to the capital of the province.
During the two weeks, a total of about 80 dance courses for adults and eight kids packages for children from 5 to 14 years of age are offered. Furthermore, a performance programme with international dancers and dance companies awaits you, which has already made Bolzano Danza - Tanz Bozen an important event in the European dance scene in recent years. Famous is the 2020 edition, when the project "Eden" was awarded a prize, in which dancer Annie Hanauer danced solo for a single guest when culture had to pause in times of the pandemic. Such as the Bolzano Festival Bozen, also Bolzano Danza - Tanz Bozen is part of the Bolzano Summer of Culture.
