Südtirol Jazzfestival Alto Adige

The South Tyrol Jazz Festival offers 10 days full of jazz music and swinging experiences from the end of June to early July

After the beginning of summer, the focus in South Tyrol is set on jazz music. The whole region transforms into a giant open-air stage: The music festival, founded in 1982, was held only in the main town of Bolzano, where still today its "base camp", the Capuchin Park, is located. Then it started conquering the region and offers today a unique stage for international jazz stars and new talents, which come to Bolzano from the big music centres such as Amsterdam and Berlin.

The music is played in towns and on the mountains, at lakes and on squares, in parks and in castle courtyards, in hotels and in factories - a perfect combination of urban spaces, culinary delights, top music and a stunning landscape. The Südtirol Jazzfestival Alto Adige begins each year on the last Friday of June and ends on the first Sunday in July, that's to say after 10 days and many concerts with inspiring approaches in more than 30 different places. For some years now, the curatorial board has been consisting of Stefan Festini Cucco, Max von Pretz and Roberto Tubaro.
